Safe Haven Veterinary Clinic was born out of a desire to return veterinary medicine to the way it should be practiced; with the patients wellbeing at the very heart of the care. 

In the last decade Vets in general have become synonymous with corporate medicine, where no matter what catchy tag line they present, profit will always come before the patient.

At Safe Haven, I, as an experienced 20 year qualified Veterinarian, firmly believe we need to get this profession back to the James Herriot ethos of a love of the job as a way of life, and a love of the animals and their care at the core of everything we do. And that I truly believe starts in the home. 

Most of our pets feel the same way about the Vets as I do about the dentist! Simply walking in the door peeks their stress from the sights sounds and smells. 

It is well known in human medicine that patients do better if you can where possible keep them out of hospital and in their homes - so long as they can receive the care they need of course. 

That's why at Safe Haven we want to bring as much of the practice to you as we can. Whilst we can't perform surgery at your home, we can provide both the routine care of consultations and vaccinations, and also blood testing (for both health care checks and when disease is suspected), blood pressure monitoring, diabetes management, titre testing, in home ultrasound exams, lameness management, post operative care to name just a few things. 

 

I truly believe in building relationships with my clients that last a lifetime, and in order to do that, those relationships need to be founded on honesty and from that - trust. I believe that the care of our animals is a God given mandate set out from the very beginning of time and I take that with the seriousness that it demands.
