New Arrivals
An Innovation in Intestinal disease diagnostics

GI Quest is probably the biggest point of care jump in veterinary diagnostic care for patients with intestinal disease in recent memory.
Measuring faecal Calprotectin, a marker used in human medicine for decades, this diagnostic test takes only 15 minutes to run and provides a means of rapidly assisting diagnosis of intestinal inflammation (i.e. inflammatory bowel disease - IBD) and monitoring response to therapy.
For example, where we used to advise at least 6-8 weeks to see a response to a food trial treatment plan for food gut inflammatory disease, we can now see whether inflammation has improved in as little as 2 weeks. This drastically cuts the time required to assess response to diet trials, and potentially saves being on a non-effective treatment plan for longer than necessary.

For IBD cases or other causes of gut inflammation we can use the test not only to help confirm the diagnosis but to also provide a means of monitoring objectively responses to medical or dietary management and even potentially predict relapses.

Call us to discuss this hugely important and cost effective new test that we are proud to be at the forefront of promoting.
